Ever thought about giving back to your hometown? We introduced Hometown Edge to give you a new option. It's like a park bench dedicated to your family. Except, it is way cooler because it is a skate trainer that kids can use to improve skills.... and it's not a park bench. (Read More...)
Give your Hometown the EDGE!!
One of the best donations I have seen in sports.Jeff Cowie, CanSkate Parent
It is a brilliant piece of equipmentKen King, CEO Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation
One of the really neat things to see is how much the kids absolutely love using the Tornado’s Edge. Kids are usually lined up because it’s fun to use and they don’t even realize all the benefits that are getting by learning to skate with it. One young girl attended Power Play having never skated before and she initially did not want to go on the ice. She was introduced to the Tornado’s Edge and then she didn’t want to get off of it. She came back to Power Play the very next week ready to get on the ice and try it again.Constable Jack Mills, Calgary Police Service Power Play Program
My son’s ability to stand up and balance has improved considerably. He is just much more confidentMaureen Feethy, Learn-to-Skate Parent
I think the brilliance of it is in the simplicity of the design. Coaches can set it up quickly and they can take it down quickly, Kids love it, it’s an attraction, so it becomes something they want to do, and as a coach, that’s invaluableBrent Lloyd, Coaldale Minor Hockey
For the goalie, much of what they do get’s covered up with poor development, weak muscles, and no skating. Kids in this position must complete this type of training to reach their highest potential. They always say in the hockey world that goalies should be the best skaters... but no one teaches them how. Now, the Tornado’s Edge can keep them accountable to this vital process!Coach Lorie Pulliam, BPE (Kines), MA Sports Science, Applied Neuroscience, President of Inner Mind Sports
I have never observed a child learning a new skill, especially one as mechanically challenging as skating, showing this amount of ease. I would suggest this is due to the Tornado’s Edge repetitive pattern and clear cue words from a single instructor. The instinctive way the children found balance and the ability to “actually” skate without falling down, lead to increased pleasure, success and enjoyment.Coach Lorie Pulliam, BPE (Kines), MA Sports Science, Applied Neuroscience, President of Inner Mind Sports

Their confidence just skyrockets and within minutes–literally minutes–the kids’ skating style changes, especially on crossovers.Perry Cavanagh, Twin Arena GM
